It is Monday and I came back from one of the best weekends away with the hubby.  We spent four days in Carmel catching up with old friends and attending a stunning wedding.  I couldn’t have asked for more fun and have fallen in love with the quaint town of Carmel.  Reality sets in this week though as school starts Wednesday and we are quickly back to early mornings and busy schedules.

In shopping news, it seems that when it comes to the combination of stripes and a dress, I have no self control.  I purchased this one for Easter, then this one for the start of summer (now on sale for $20) and now this one for our trip to Carmel.

In my defense, it is black stripes instead of navy like the other two.  Also, it is a completely different style.  I love the blousy top with the more fitted midi length.  It almost looks like two separates.  See, I can justify just about anything.  The big kicker though is that it is only $26.  That sealed the deal.

I wore it on our flight up to Carmel and it was extremely comfortable and easy to travel in.  I always get a little concerned on quality when something is so reasonably priced but the fabric was soft and it really did make for the perfect casual look.  It could easily be dressed up for a night out on the town too, making it pretty versatile.

And because it seems my obsession with striped dresses doesn’t seem to stop, here are more that I am loving…

Here we go again. Another weekend is on the horizon and I am getting my last post of the week out because the hubby and I are headed out of town for a Carmel wedding! It is nice to know we will be getting a little quiet time together before the chaos of school and busy schedules set in next week. Considering we have had at least once practice every day this week already, it is certainly starting to pick up and I can only imagine the chaos I am in for.  I will say that based on my current wardrobe selections (see above), I am getting a tad bit excited for Fall.  Cable knits and plaid are beginning to call my name.  But back to this weekend.

Packing for Carmel has been a blast. Unlike El Capitan that involves an extremely casual, laid back style (like dresses and cut offs), Carmel allows me to bring a little more class and sophistication to my suitcase. I picked up this Anthrologie denim dress for day time cruising and this Heidi Merrick dress for a romantic dinner out with my man. Then of course there is this little number I am wearing to the wedding. It has been forever since I have lived in dresses over a weekend and I am looking forward to it.

A formal dress wouldn’t be the same without these Stuart Weitzman heels.  Such classics and I highly recommend them as I wear mine all the time.

One final addition to the suitcase would be a nice cashmere piece for the nights that tend to get a little more chilly.  Paired with a pair of Flared Denim and classic black pumps and it would make for a cozy dinner out don’t you think?

Now back to this Anthropologie denim dress.  It is not very often that I see something in a catalog and HAVE to order it but I couldn’t help myself with this one.  I have such a thing for denim used in a more sophisticated way.  This Victoria Beckham one is also adorable and on sale for only $148.  If you are a fan of the shirt dress, this denim one by Current/Elliot is on sale for $169.  I also like this one, this one, and this one.  You can never have too many denim dresses right?

Because my hair seemed to take such a beating during the summer, I started using this 3 in 1 leave in conditioner and absolutely love it.  You put it on before going to the beach and immediately following and it keeps your locks moisturized the entire time you are there.

The other day I posted a photo on Instagram of my Nike Internationalist sneakers and they were a hit.  They are one of my favorite pairs of sneakers and I love the color combinations available for Fall.

One of my favorite things for Fall is a Fur Coat (Faux of course).  It really makes no sense because it never gets cold enough here for me to actually wear them but that doesn’t seem to deter me from buying them.  I love this one from Asos and the price makes it worth it in my book.  If you insist on being more practical, I do love this long trench coat, which is also a great price coming in under $150.

Over the Knee Boots are also a must and these ones are now on my wish list.  I think I was destined to live in cold weather if only for the clothes.

Did you happen to see my post from yesterday on Mother Trucker Co?  If not, you must check it out.  Click here to see.

I can’t get enough of nude and navy for Fall…

Happy Weekend!

If you followed my El Capitan adventures on Instagram this past weekend (@jugglinginheels), you would notice that there was a pretty rad hat line that continued to pop up throughout my photos. See, when you head to a weekend of glamping and beach play, it only makes sense to bring along your trusty trucker hat…and there is no trucker hat I like more than Mother Trucker & Co.

“We are Mothers and we sell Truckers”. It is as easy as that. The original “Mother Truckers” Shannon and Michaela, are local CA mothers living the real world of parenting, and just like we are all trying to do, giving it their all. Their trucker hat line launched and instantly began speaking to moms everywhere, showcasing our love for life, our children and the easy lifestyle that is California. I first came across their line when I saw a photo of their “Caffeinated” hat online. Genius, considering there isn’t a day that goes by that I am not caffeinated. I had to get my hands on it and it instantly moved to the top of my hat rotation.

Then El Capitan came around and both Mother Trucker & Co. and I agreed. These 5 mothers heading out of town for some glamping needed some truckers. They had recently launched their “Mom” Collection which fit this crew perfectly. From Baseball to Soccer, Tennis to Twins, there was a hat for everyone. They hit the beach with us and they were not only perfect for our lazy days in the sand but people continued to comment on how perfect they were, asking where we got them. Apparently there are more moms out there who need a few truckers!

I continue to be amazed by Moms who have an idea and run with it, creating something that connects moms and the crazy world we can sometimes live in. There are so many impressive business women and I feel fortunate that this blog has allowed me to work with so many of them. Shannon and Michaela are no different and they have taken the trucker hat for moms to an entirely new level. If this is where they start, I can only image how far they will go. I highly suggest visiting the Mother Trucker & Co. website here and previewing their entire collection. As I said, there is a hat there for everyone. And if there isn’t, they do custom orders!

Thank you Mother Trucker & Co. for sponsoring this post and coming along on our glamping adventures with us!

Beyond my Trucker hat, here are a few other items I always have with me on a beach day!

Recently I have been picking up dresses that serve two functions. First, it can make a great beach or pool coverup. The second, it can be worn with heels, sandals or booties for a lunch or night out on the town. Versatility is extremely important when I am bouncing from one thing to another and being able to simply change the shoes makes getting ready for the next thing so much easier. Billabong has a huge selection of dresses that fit both of these purposes and are always incredible prices. I recently picked up this Strayed Hearts one and have worn it numerous times, both as a coverup and as a dress. The print is beautiful and also comes in a top and pants.  I also love off the shoulder one this one that is currently on sale for only $18!  When it comes to a maxi length, I love this one with the detail all along the neckline.

Here are some other Billabong dresses that I am loving, all under $100…

Monday, Monday.  Oh how I wish I could go back to yesterday.  Or perhaps more so Saturday.  We had the BEST time glamping at El Capitan and there is always a sad feeling when a little getaway comes to the end.  Don’t get me wrong.  It feels good to be back in our own bed but spending a few days out of reality is extremely refreshing, especially when it entails boogie boarding all day long for the first time since High School.  I have some really fun photos I will share this week but for now, I am just trying to get everyone settled.

When it came to packing for El Capitan, I wanted simple, easy and casual.  That is all you really need.  I recently picked up this floral tunic and this white tunic from Swell and hadn’t had the opportunity to wear them yet so El Cap seemed like the perfect time to put them to use.  There really is nothing better than wearing a tunic, cut offs and sandals while sitting on the beach or around a campfire.

Swell has so many great tunics at great prices.  Here are some others that I am currently loving…

We are headed off this weekend for a little glamping trip with friends (yes, glamping…this girl gave up sleeping in tents a long time ago) so I thought I would get my post out a little bit earlier than normal.  Extra treat for you and then I have nothing hanging over me while we are gone.  Win win right?

I am not sure if you have noticed but with Back to School upon us and the Fall season knocking on our door, there is so much goodness available right now.  Sure I am not ready to let go of summer but at least retailers are making it a little more enticing.  I mean, you saw yesterday’s post on the 70’s, which is filled with flares and florals, but that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Frame Denim has quickly become a favorite of mine and their Fall pieces are amazing.  I am in love with this Tie Silk Shirt Dress and Denim Jumpsuit.  And don’t forget the high-waisted flares this Fall.  They are a staple for everyone.

To go with all these 70’s inspired pieces I feel that one needs a good pair of mules to wear with it all.  I really like these ones and they are currently on sale for $49.90.

With Fall coming, rain should be to.  Well, we hope here in California.  It is suppose to be an El Nino year after all (fingers crossed).  I love my Hunters and now the little girls can join in the fun with these Hunters at such a great price.

I love sweat sets as pajamas and lounging around the house.  I picked up this “I’m Not A Morning Person” one (which is going glamping with me) but I am also thinking I might need this “Coffee Time” one as well.  They are both only $20 for the set and perfect to wear when I am dropping the kids off at school and don’t want to change out of pajamas, because you know, sometimes I don’t.

Little side note:  Did you catch my Aveeno video with PopSugar?  You can watch it here.

These Jeffrey Campbell Wedges have been a hit on the blog but if you want something with a much smaller heel, this pair is a great alternative.

I have been purchasing a lot of sneakers lately and my heel selection has taken a hit.  I am now craving some really fun heels for Fall and love these, these and these.  Fall is the time for investing right?!

Old Navy has some great Fall handbags at crazy good prices for those little accessories you want to update your look without breaking the bank.  I really like this striped cross-body this fringe cross-body and this backpack.

I picked up this Zimmermann Silk Plunge Draped Dress for an upcoming Black Tie wedding and I am dying to wear it.  Next weekend it is!  I also loved this gown and this gown.  The decision was not easy with how many beautiful pieces Zimmermann creates.

Finally, how cute are these Mother Trucker hats?!  We are taking them along for our glamping trip and there will be much more about the company soon up on the blog!  For now, you can visit their entire collection here.

Here are just a few more Fall items that I am loving…

I hope all of you have a great weekend and I will see you when I get back!

With Fall quickly approaching (I know, bite my tongue right?) my eyes have started to wander towards Fall style. This summer I have loved all the 70’s inspired clothes and am excited to transition this into cooler weather. Off the shoulder tops, floral dresses and flare jeans are at the top of my Fall shopping this.

Here are some other 70’s inspired pieces that are going to make Fall a lot more fun…

First there was this yellow Splendid dress.  It made for the perfect beach coverup in Mexico but has since become a dress staple for those days I just don’t want to think about what to wear.  It is now marked down $60 less than what I paid!

Then I noticed that my favorite Joe Fresh Striped Dress was also marked down….to $20!  WHAT?!  $19.94 to be exact.

image2 (15)

I guess I could be a little upset at the thought of paying full price when they are now such deals but then I came across this adorable clutch for only $18.88…

Now I still consider myself winning.

Like my striped dress, Joe Fresh has some crazy prices on some classic items right now. Here are some of my favorites…

Also, I am so excited to share that my first of three videos with Aveeno and PopSugar Moms has launched! Take a look at some quick morning tips I give to help getting out of the door in the morning a little easier for everyone! I hope you like it as much as I had fun filming it!  Click here to see the video!

When it comes to prepping for Fall, I hate to just jump in. It needs to be a transition for me. I want to feel that the items I purchase can be worn now, but will still make sense in the Fall. I have pulled together six heels that would work perfect now for Summer, worn with dresses and shorts, but will easily transition into Fall with knits and denim. By keeping them a neutral color, they really work with everything. So why give in completely? I say take your time and enjoy the slow changing of seasons.
